Hello!

I am Michelle. I am a native English speaker. I speak fluent in English and Spanish. Growing up, I have always had talent in picking up and learning languages.

I have more than 10 years’ experience in teaching English and attended Oxford University. I mainly tutor English and English Literature at different academic levels. I am able to help with grammar, vocabulary building, and writing.

I also teach Debate, having taught at schools around Hong Kong. In regard to this area, I can teach debate techniques which are applicable to local Hong Kong tournaments, as well as to subjects in school such as Liberal Studies! Having debated since secondary school and representing both my secondary school and my university in regional and global tournaments, the techniques I teach students in regard to debate come from my personal experience as well as tips and tricks from top debaters worldwide.

My goal as a teacher is to express and pass down my love of languages to my students. I have a range of skills and techniques I use when learning languages which are both applicable in real life conversation as well as in language examinations. As I speak multiple languages, I do not have trouble with translation. In fact, it helps me understand further the intricacies of grammar and style discrepancies between languages. This means I can better understand why students who do not have English as a first language will choose to use certain sentence patterns instead of other patterns, and I am able to help them correct themselves and learn from their mistakes.
